Project Description
Pontoon dock is an apartment scheme which consists of three buildings, which range in height between five and 14 storeys, will provide 154 apartments for private rental and 82 affordable homes. Those living here will enjoy exceptional views over the River Thames, the park and the Royal Docks, as well as residents’ amenities, external terraces and the convenience of having the DLR station moments from their front door.
A mix of retail and commercial units are located at ground-floor level, bringing additional amenities for the local community and park visitors. The structural system consists of reinforced concrete frames integrated with flat slabs & RC walls. Higher floors have more internal walls than a traditional frame for support to produce a structurally efficient solution.
CADS was appointed for the project at RIBA stage-4 and carried out Finite element Modelling, Pile loads, Stability check and Design of Pile cap Foundation, RC Columns, RC Stability walls, Slabs and Staircase for entire project.
